Imphal (Manipur), May 29 (ANI): Mohammed Ismat, the science student who topped Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) grade XII examinations, now believes he is closer to his dream of wanting to top the All India Civil Service Examination.
Ismat from Imphal, Manipur, belongs to an extremely poor family. His father works as an assistant teacher in a primary school.
"I feel very delighted, how to express, it is a great moment for me that if I face any financial problem I will go up to him (principal) and ask him and he will provide me. My dream to become IAS topper is now nearer to me," said Ismat.
Ismat said he first wanted to join St Stephen's College in Delhi.
The founder secretary and principal of the Zenith Academy, S. Manoton Singh, said that it was a proud moment of his life.
"Just when I got the information, I was so excited and I do no know how to express my feelings and from that moment I come to know that my school is not bad and I can have the challenging power with other compatible schools of the country. Although we have some shortage of infrastructure, I am very much proud of my talented and experienced teachers and my united colleagues," said Singh.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the grade XII Board exam results on May 28.
According to reports, over eight million students appeared for the exam, which shows an increase of 5.94 percent as compared to last year.
This year too girls have outshined boys. 86.2 percent girls cleared the exam against 75.8 percent boys. The total pass percentage is 80.1 percent.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considered to be the most prestigious of all education boards in the country. (ANI)
