New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who has agreed to present and promote director Mangesh Hadawale's film "Dekh Indian Circus", was initially approached to play the lead role in it.
Producers Chirag Shah and Mahaveer Jain had approached Imtiaz Ali with the lead role. Though he liked the film, he refused to face the camera and decided to focus on his directorial ventures, said a statement.
After the film was completed, Jain and Hadawale met Ali and showed it to him. He was delighted to watch it and felt that the movie should reach a maximum number of people, as it's an entertaining and meaningful cinematic work. He thus came on board to promote and present it.

Dharam Oberoi was Sanjay's 'evil disease': RGV
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who lashed out at Sanjay Dutt and swore never to work with him, after the release of "Department", seems to be extending an olive branch to the actor.
Varma blames Dharam Oberoi, CEO of Sanjay's production company, for the debacle of the "Department", claiming he interfered a lot during the making of the film. However, the filmmaker is now happy that the actor has been removed from his company.
"Don't know if Dharam is out of Sanjay's life but if true it's the best news I heard because he's more dangerous for Sanjay than the 1993 blast case," Varma tweeted.
"More than for sorting out my differences with Sanjay I am happy that the evil disease is out of Sanjay's life," he added.

Sonu ready to dance around trees
Actor Sonu Sood, known for giving intense performances, is open to doing roles which require him to run around the trees, singing and dancing, but insists his role should have some substance.
"As long as it is convincing, why not. I think Indian cinema has survived all these years on this, but there are fewer films that are made on those notes," Sonu told IANS.
"It's not just running around trees and singing, my role has to be substantial and give me a reason to dance around the trees," he added.
