Melbourne, May 28 (ANI): Glenn McGrath has sponsored wife Sara Leonardi-McGrath's new art gallery in Chippendale, Sydney.
The former real estate agent, who has also worked in advertising and dealt in luxury cars in the US, cut the ribbon on the McLemoi Gallery in Chippendale earlier this month and on Saturday spruiked a new exhibition featuring the work of famed American sculptor Luis Gispert, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Leonardi-McGrath, who had been sentenced to a one-year good behaviour bond over a low-range drink-driving charge last week, has teamed up with her childhood best friend, fellow American and art history specialist Kristia Moises, who is acting as the curator at the gallery.
The two women had come up with the name 'McLemoi' by combining their surnames.
Leonardi-McGrath, who had been studying interior design in South Africa in 2009 when she met McGrath, has been actively promoting her gallery since it opened on May 15.
"Our international artists are all established," Leonardi-McGrath told Confidential.
"(The Gispert exhibition) is a pretty fantastic show and it's the first time that the works have been shown in Australia," she added.
Website of McLemoi Gallery says that they sell pieces from both Australian and international artists valued up to about 40,000 dollars. (ANI)
