Paris, May 25 (Xinhua-ANI): The World No.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic on Friday said he was ready for 2012 French Open but expressed caution over the Spanish Rafael Nadal who remains "the favorite" to win the French title.
"My mindset is always positive and always expecting from myself a lot. So I had the best year and a half of my career. I believe that I'm at the peak of my career at this moment," Djokovic said.
"Winning four Grand Slam tournaments in a row would definitely mean the world to me from that perspective, but I haven't thought about that too much because I do not want to put too much pressure on myself," the 25-year-old Serbian player added.
In remarks posted on the French Open website, Djokovic noted that Nadal "is always favorite for this tournament... He's most successful tennis player ever to play on this surface."
"You can always expect him to be at his top, especially at the later stages of Grand Slams and tournaments," he said.
Djokovic and Nadal had met in seven finals from January 2011 to the first month of this year. The Serbian player lost in straight sets to Nadal in 2012 Monte Carlo and Roma Masters.
The Serbian was drawn along with the Italian Potito Starace, Blaz Kavcic from Slovenia and Australian Lleyton Hewitt in Roland Garros's first round. (Xinhua-ANI)
