UPA most ineffective, corrupt and indifferent government: BJP

New Delhi , Fri, 25 May 2012 ANI

New Delhi, May 25 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday termed the Manmohan Singh-led Government at the Centre to be the most ineffective, corrupt and indifferent government, and said that the people of the country were now eyeing upon the main opposition party for some respite.

Highlighting BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani's comments made for the ruling UPA Government at the Centre at the BJP's national executive meeting in Mumbai, senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad: "The most ineffective, the most corrupt, the most indifferent and the most inefficient Central Government since independence."

"Advaniji also mentioned that out of all the Indian Prime Ministers so far even if they had only ten MPs, the Prime Minister's word was final. He mentioned that the Prime Minister's post had never ever become so invaluable as it is now, never ever had any Prime Minister of India been so indecisive and helpless, that his word was not the last word," he added.

Prasad said that Advani has asked the party workers to come to the fore and interact with the masses with the message that the BJP is the answer to all their problems.

He further said that the BJP veteran was disappointed with the 'White Paper' on black money presented by the UPA Government in Parliament.

"Advaniji also mentioned his 'Chetna Yatra'. He said that I had demanded the government to present 'White Paper' on black money, but this 'White Paper' with such a blank paper I had never expected. He said that 'what effective step did the Government of India take to bring back black money'," said Prasad.

The White Paper, which was tabled by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in the Lok Sabha earlier this week did not provide government's estimate of black money, within and outside the country, though it quoted various estimates of other agencies on the issue.

The document, however, pitched for fast-track courts to expeditiously deal with financial offences and deterrent punishment for offenders.

It has also suggested tax incentives for encouraging use of debit and credit cards as these leave audit trails.

The senior BJP leader also informed that the party was planning to organize the national executive meeting for three days from the next time

"Advaniji in his beginning comments today praised the Maharashtra BJP. We welcomed Raj Purohitji and his team with great round of applause. I have been in the BJP's national executive from 1995. I think it was one of the best organized national executives. Both party chief and Advaniji said that the national executive meeting should be for three days from the next time," he said. (ANI)
