London, May 25(ANI): Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has admitted he had developed a mental block, which prevented him from scoring, during last season.
The 50 million pound striker revealed there were times as he went through a run of 24 games without a goal that he became scared of being even in a position to miss the target.
After clear the air talks with Chelsea following his post Champions League Final moans about his treatment under Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Di Matteo, the Spaniard insists he will come back after the break revitalized
"It was a mental block last season and I had it very bad. When I wasn't scoring I still felt very good on the pitch because I feel I became a more complete player," The Daily Mirror quotes Torres, as saying.
"But the ball did not fall for me and at times I felt that I was never in the correct position. I went away and watched many videos to study the movements of other strikers, including ones of me when I was at Atletico Madrid and Liverpool," he added.
"It helped me a lot be cause I lost the fear of being in the area that I had been playing with," he said. (ANI)
