Lampard hails Drogba for Champions League victory
London, May 20 (ANI): Chelsea striker Frank Lampard has hailed Didier Drogba for the club's dramatic win in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
The Blues earned a 4-3 penalty shoot-out victory over the Germans after the match had ended in a draw after extra time.
Lampard was one of the scorers in his side spot-kick success, but he praised Drogba for his superb display.
"I can't believe it. The determination we've shown...we didn't play fantastic but the main man Didier dug us out of trouble there. He's a hero. Without him we're not here. He scores the goals in the big games," The Sun quoted Lampard, as saying.
Drogba, who is out of contract this summer, may have played his last-ever game for the Blues.
However, Lampard expressed his appreciation for the Ivorian footballer saying, "I'd love him to stay. What he did tonight, he's been doing all his career." (ANI)
