New York, May 16 (ANI): Jay-Z has seconded Obama's support of gay marriage, saying that not allowing same-sex couples to wed is "no different than discriminating against blacks."

The rapper, whose actual name is Shawn Carter, said that he is proud that Obama became the first sitting president to endorse gay marriage last week.

"I've always thought it was something that was still holding the country back," the New York Post quoted him as telling CNN.

"What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business.

"It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination - plain and simple," he said.

The rapper was asked if he thought it was a wise move before an election.

"It's really not about votes. It's about people. Whether it costs him votes or not, it's the right thing to do as a human being," he added. (ANI)
