New Delhi/Chennai, May 14 (ANI): Actor-politician Chiranjeevi on Monday clarified that the cash, which was found at the Chennai residence of his daughter Sushmita, did not belong to his family.
Chiranjeevi, who is the chief of the regional Praja Rajyam Party, further said the cash belonged to some distant relatives of his son-in-law.
"It is very much clear. The other party, they are the distant relatives of my son-in-law. So, directly we don't have any connection with that right. They themselves confessed that everything belonged to those people, who are distant relatives of my son-in-law," said Chiranjeevi.
"So, our family, my son-in-law, we don't have any other connection with that. They (have) already accepted and information I think you can get from the IT of Chennai," he added.
According to reports, cartons stuffed with Rs. 35 crore in cash were found at the Chennai residence of Chiranjeevi's daughter Sushmita.
Chiranjeevi's son-in-law, Vishnu Prasad, had come under the income tax net with IT sleuths conducting raids on his business and residential premises in the city for close to two days. (ANI)
