London, May 13 (ANI): Sir Alex Ferguson fears that United striker Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic won't be fit enough for the Euro 2012 championship.
England defender, Rio, 33, has struggled with a back problem this season.
"You play something like a game every four days at the Euros, and Rio Ferdinand couldn't do that," The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
As for defender Vidic, Ferguson revealed he also won't be fit in time for United's pre-season tour to South Africa and the Far East, as he still battling his damaged knee ligaments since December.
"Vida won't be going on the summer tour. He won't be ready for that, but hopefully he will be ready for the start of the season. It's not been easy for him, he's not doing any running yet just work in the gym," Ferguson added. (ANI)
