Lahore, May 13 (ANI): A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official has cited the political conflict between the PPP and the PML-N activists in Lahore as the reason for the Gaddafi Stadium's wall being brought down.
"People should keep politics away from sports because Pakistan's reputation comes into question," the Express Tribune quoted a PCB spokesperson, as saying.
The PCB spokesperson also confirmed that during a meeting held last week with the local administration, no reservations were shown over the plans.
"The grills did not provide enough security as the players and officials were exposed to the public. It was also not in accordance with the ICC's standards. The act will further harm our reputation in the global cricket fraternity," the spokesperson added. (ANI)
