Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh), May 12(ANI): A camp of the state armed forces personnel was attacked by Maoists in the early hours of Friday, killing Sanjay Rai, a policeman.
A police official, P. P. Singh, said during the search operation, which they had undertaken early morning, the cadres found petrol bomb, country made rocket launcher and country made bombs in the camp.
"Yesterday night (May 10) at around 12:30, the Maoists surrounded the Kukrajhar camp and open fired at the camp and the village and killed a personnel. They also threw crude rockets and HE Mortar Bomb on the camp and on the adjacent village," said Singh.
He added that as a precautionary measure fencing was done around the camps and cadres were trained accordingly to combat such attacks.
"In wake of the earlier attacks, we erected fences around the camps, towers have been made, and buildings are constructed using concrete material. The personnel are trained to effectively protect themselves from such attacks," added Singh. (ANI)
