Maldivian President meets Manmohan Singh in Delhi

New Delhi, May 12 (ANI): Maldivian President Dr. Mohammed Waheed met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here on Saturday.

Dr. Waheed, who arrived here last evening on a five-day official visit to India at the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister, reportedly discussed the present situation in Maldives with him.

This is the Maldivian President's first set of meetings with the Indian government after an extraordinary turn of events put him at the helm of affairs in the island nation.

Dr. Waheed, who assumed the office of the President of the Republic of Maldives in February 2012, is also scheduled to visit Mumbai during his visit. (ANI)
