Taslima miffed with 'Satyamev's' success

Mumbai, May 8 (ANI): Taslima Nasreen is quite upset with the fact that superstars draw attention to a social cause quite easily while the relentless efforts of so many activists working for the same cause usually go un-noticed.

With the sort response 'Satyamev Jayate' has received the activist seems to be mighty peeved with the fact that people tend to follow stars, who endorse social campaigns by using their "pretty faces" more than the social activists.

The lady took to Twitter to vent out her disappointment.

"From now on film stars should talk about social problems on TV. Everybody will listen to them. Ppl don't listen to human rights activists (sic)." She was quoted as posting on the social website.

"Feminists have been talking about female foeticide and its dangerous effects for decades. Ppl have learned about it today from star plus (sic)," she added with a bit of sarcasm.

Adding a few more tweets to what she posted earlier she wrote, "Dear Salman Khan, please talk about rape, domestic violence and dowry murder on TV tomorrow. Ppl should know about these problems (sic)."

"Dear Shahrukh Khan, pl talk about sexual abuse and sexual slavery on TV. Ppl shd know about these problems. We talk, but we're not film stars," Taslima posted. (ANI)
