Jajpur (Odisha), May 6(ANI): A woman Maoist leader was arrested here on Friday (May 04), a senior police officer said on Sunday.

Siny Soy, 54, reportedly joined Maoists' rank in 2006. She was arrested from a forest here and is allegedly involved in several crimes, including abduction of a police officer and attack on a police station.

"This arrest is very import because from 2006 whatever crimes were committed by the Maoists, she was directly or indirectly involved in them," said Ashish Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP).

Her prime work was to induct women, especially from rural areas, into the organization.

Soy has been admitted to a hospital for treatment of malaria. (ANI)
