Pranab to visit Bangladesh for Tagore ceremony

New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) Building upon warming ties, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will visit Bangladesh Sunday as the guest of honour to attend the closing ceremony of the joint celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
Mukherjee will be accompanied by a high-profile delegation, including actress Sharmila Tagore, Pabitra Bhushan Sircar and a dance drama group from the Sangeet Natak Academy.
Mukherjee is expected to call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and meet his counterpart Dipu Moni, the external affairs ministry said here Wednesday. He will also meet Leader of Opposition Khaleda Zia.
Moni will be touching down in New Delhi on Sunday afternoon on a three-day visit and hold wide-ranging talks with External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna next day.
India's relations with Bangladesh have seen a dramatic upsurge since Sheikh Hasina came to power over two years ago.
