London, Apr 29(ANI): British tennis star Andy Murray has revealed that losing the Australian Open last year was the low point of his tennis career.

Murray, who has made it through to three Grand Slam finals and been a losing semi-finalist on a further six occasions, believes some players take time to reach their pinnacle, citing World number one Novak Djokovic's example.

"Djokovic was at number three or four in the world for four or five years before he made the jump up to number one; I've been at number three or four in the world for about four-and-a-half years," The Daily Mail quoted Murray, as saying during his interview with renown British journalist Sir David Frost.

"It's taking a lot longer but guys are eventually finding ways to break through to get to the top of the game. That's really what I've got to believe that I can do and keep trying to improve, because the level right at the top right now is just so strong," he added.

"There have been bad moments, like last year after losing the Australian Open. I had a very low point in my career where I was struggling and I was really down," he said. (ANI)
