Pune, April 18 (IANS) About 18 kg of gold and cash over Rs.6 lakh were looted from a gold finance company's branch in this western Maharashtra city, police said here Wednesday.

'In a complaint registered by the manager of Manappuram Gold Finance company, he reported a robbery of around 17.5 kg gold and cash of over Rs.6.5 lakh,' an official from northern Pune's Khadak police station told IANS.

'The gold has been valued at over Rs.3 crore. The manager suspects that the robbery took place between 7.30 p.m. Tuesday after he closed the office and 10 a.m. Wednesday when he opened the office,' he added.

The police suspect it is an insider job as duplicate keys were used to break into the office.
