4,793 cases settled at Delhi Lok Adalat

New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) A total of 4,793 cases relating to dishonoured cheques, electricity bills, traffic rule violations and other civil and criminal matters were disposed of in a Lok Adalat held in six district courts here Saturday.
The Lok Adalat was organised by Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA). "Out of 4,793 cases, 4,474 cases related to cheque bounce, civil, electricity, traffic, criminal and other matters," said an official of the DLSA.
He added that 51 cases pertaining to road accident claims were disposed of in which a total compensation of Rs.7,342,000 was awarded.
