Manipur get its first shopping mall

Imphal, Apr 13 (ANI): Manipur recently inaugurated its first shopping mall at the Mantriphukri area in Imphal, reflecting the people's desire to lead a better and prosperous life.

"When we go outside the state, we see many big malls and shopping complex from where we can buy whatever we want. So we thought that why do not we have one in Manipur? So we 15 members got together and discussed to have a mall in Manipur also," said M Razak, Manipur Mall Managing Committee.

Though the mall is not the first one in the Northeast, it is expected to attract several big companies and brands to the region.

Currently, one restaurant and a family store have started providing their services to customers.

Many ATM booths, beauty parlors, and fitness centres are also in line to open shops here.

"It's very good because this is the first mall in Manipur. It is also bringing development in the region. We want such development to happen more often in the future," said Deepak Sharma, a visitor.

This multi specialty complex, once fully operational, will be the new point of convergence for traders and buyers from all over the country. Such projects reflect the huge scope available for trade and infrastructure development in the state. (ANI)
