Baby Afreen dies of cardiac arrest

Bengaluru, Apr 11 (ANI): Three-month-old baby Afreen - who was battling for life at a government hospital here after being allegedly battered by her father - passed away on Wednesday.
Doctors said the baby died of a cardiac arrest she suffered today.
On Tuesday, the doctors at Vani Vilas Hospital had said her condition was very critical and she was on ventilator support.
The baby's father Umar Farook, who was arrested on Sunday, has confessed that he tried to kill Afreen because he wanted a boy.
Farook, 25, an employee of a shop in Shivajinagar in city central business district, was held on a complaint by his 19-year-old wife Reshma Banu that he had tried to kill the baby as he wanted a son. (ANI)
