School girl killed in Delhi accident

New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) An 11-year-old school girl died while three others were injured here Saturday morning after their motorcycle was hit by a tractor pulling a water tanker, police said.

 

Gayatri died on the spot at Aman Vihar in Rohini around 7.30 a.m. Kuldeep, who was riding the motorcycle, was taking the three children to school.

 

Kuldeep, Sangeetha, 9, and Pooja, 11, were rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital. Pooja had minor injuries and was discharged. Sangeetha is undergoing treatment, said an officer.

 

"Kuldeep is in the emergency section of the hospital," said the officer. The tractor driver escaped.

 

According to authorities, a mob of 1,000 people gathered at the accident site and police used tear gas to disperse them.
