Hot day in Delhi, no respite likely Friday

New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) It was a sunny and hot day in the national capital Thursday as above average maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded. The met office forecast similar weather Friday.

 

"The maximum temperature Thursday was 37.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 22.2 degrees Celsius, both four notches above average for this time of the year," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

 

Humidity levels remained between a high of 66 percent and a low of 15 percent.

 

According to IMD, the skies will remain clear Friday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 38 and 22 degrees Celsius.

 

The maximum temperature recorded Wednesday was also four notches above average at 37.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was three notches above average at 21.9 degrees Celsius.
