Khloe Kardashian quits PETA after flour bomb attack on Kim

Washington, Tue, 27 Mar 2012 ANI

Washington, Mar 27 (ANI): Khloe Kardashian has quit as a spokesperson for animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), after it surfaced that the person who threw flour over Kim last week had close ties to the organisation.

The attack was reportedly prompted by Kim's refusal to stop wearing furs.

After Kim Kardashian got pelted by a flour bomb, the anti-fur group PETA not only pledged to support the alleged attacker if Kardashian pressed charges, but also lashed out at the reality starlet.

Once a strong a supporter of PETA, Khloe had posed for the charity in their popular "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign and helped to promote their cause.

"I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise," People magazine quoted her as writing on her blog.

"Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior.

"I've been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don't condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that," she said.

Although denying being responsible for the attack, PETA has said that it would help the suspect if she were prosecuted.

"I am absolutely disgusted by their behavior," she wrote.

"Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions - I personally don't wear fur but that doesn't mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them," she added. (ANI)
