London, Mar 9 (ANI): Whitney Houston's cousin Dionne Warwick has revealed that the singer had requested her to attend Clive Davis's Grammy party the day she died.

The 71-year-old singer said in an interview with 'Good Morning America' that she spoke to Houston on the day she died.

"I spoke to Whitney the day that she passed, I spoke to her that morning," the Daily Mail quoted Warwick as saying on the show.

Warwick, said that 'The Bodyguard' star had asked to attend a party at the Beverly Hills hotel that evening.

"She said, 'You're here, aren't you? You're coming to the party, aren't you?' I said, 'Yeah, I'm going to be there' and she said, 'Thank you, I want you to be here. You've got to be here for me'," Warwick added.

Just hours later, on February 11, Houston was found dead in her hotel room.

"She was so up and ready and happy. She had everything in the world to live for. She had a new film [Sparkle] that was an absolute dream to make and do. She was getting ready to go back into the studio to record. She was getting her vocals together," Warwick said.

She also said that she found the death of Houston "surreal" and said it "hasn't really sunk in yet."

She described her touchingly as "the little girl I never had", which just shows how close the pair were. (ANI)
