Jamshedpur, Mar 4 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a slum dwelling area in Jamshedpur's Chayanagar locality in Jharkhand on Sunday, burning down at least 200 shanties and causing huge property loss.

No casualties were reported so far but reportedly, all belongings of daily wagers living in the area have been turned into ashes.

Five fire engines were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the inferno.

It was for the second time in four months that the fire broke out in the same slum locality.

"We can't say how the fire broke out. Suddenly we saw fire and smoke emanating from the shanties, and managed to run away with our belongings," said Kalu Yadav, a slum dweller.

It is reported that the concerned authorities have begun investigation to ascertain the cause of fire. (ANI)
