Oz cricketers turn 'clowns' to entertain sick children at Sydney hospital

Melbourne, Thu, 16 Feb 2012 ANI

Melbourne, Feb 16(ANI): Australian cricketers visited sick children in the Sydney Children's Hospital, ahead of the one day international against Sri Lanka.

Dressed in clown gear, David Warner was joined by team-mates David Hussey, Peter Forrest and Clint McKay, who entertained young patients at the hospital.

"It's a good opportunity for myself and a few other guys to come here and put some smiles on the kids faces. Dressing up in some clown outfits is fantastic. I don't have a favourite clown," The Herald Sun quoted Warner, as saying.

Warner expressed hope that he will captain his side in future.

"I already knew being under Michael Clarke I was getting some experience for future years and will hopefully lead the country one day," Warner said.

I'm thoroughly enjoying that role behind Michael there and obviously appointing Ricky (Ponting) as captain is due to his experience and an opportunity for me to be under him as well. He's led the country for many years and I'm looking forward to being his vice captain," he added. (ANI)
