Banks endured painful spa treatment to avoid 'embarrassment'

Washington, Jan 26 (ANI): Elizabeth Banks has revealed that she once had a bizarre spa experience in Hungary, where she was beaten repeatedly with a branch of palm leaves.

The Spider-Man 3 star had no idea what she was in for when she booked a platza treatment.

Banks was left cringing in pain throughout as she was "too embarrassed" to say anything.

"The most ridiculous (spa) experience I've had was in Budapest. It's known for its bathhouses, and I'd never been to one of those. I had some giant Hungarian smack me with palm fronds," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Time Out New York.

"It was so painful, but I was too embarrassed to say, 'Please stop'," she said.

However, The 37-year-old American beauty insists that the Hungarian experience isn't the only strange spa story, in fact, a mud wrap in Park City, Utah proved to be much more relaxing.

"I recently had an amazing mud wrap. The aesthetician asked if I was claustrophobic, which made me wonder if I really knew what a wrap entailed.

"She said she was going to wrap me with foil and cover my eyes, which makes some people feel like they're in a coffin. I told her I thought I'd be okay, and I was," she added. (ANI)
