Washington, Jan 25 (ANI): Madonna broke down while talking about her mother at New York City's Ziegfeld Theatre where she was present for the Forevermark-sponsored Cinema Society premiere of her film 'W.E', on Monday.
The movie, directed by Madonna, is a modern twist on the love story between Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII. It has also just received an Oscar nomination for costume design.
"Finally, I would like to thank my mother," People quoted her as saying.
She then paused at length before choking back tears.
"Because, really, this story is the story of a female's, the journey of a female, soul. And my mother gave me life," she said.
She also talked about her upcoming halftime performance at the New England Patriots vs New York Giants Super Bowl on February 5.
The singer said she would perform "some oldies, but goodies" along with her new single, "Give Me All Your Love."
"I'm really tired from working my a- off for the Super Bowl," she said.
"My life seems to be made up of 'I never imagined I'd be here' moments," she added. (ANI)
