Tait says 'reverse swing' to be Oz bowlers' weapon during World Cup

Hobart , Wed, 19 Jan 2011 ANI

Hobart, Jan 19(ANI): Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait has said that his team's fast bowlers would use 'reverse swing' to good effect during the 50-over World Cup, starting in the Indian sub-continent from February 19.

There is no lack of speed in the 15-man Australian squad for the two-month tournament with Tait joined by Brett Lee, Doug Bollinger and Mitchell Johnson.

"In those conditions, reverse swing is going to be a factor and all four of us bowl it so we'll be looking forward to getting over there and doing that," the Age quoted Tait, as saying.

"You never know in India. Some of the wickets they produce sometimes go through pretty quickly. Fast bowling's not that bad over there," he added.

Australia's slow-bowling hopes on the spin-friendly pitches of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will rest with Nathan Hauritz, who has a modest ODI record in India of four wickets in seven matches at an average of 70.75. (ANI)
