London , Mon, 17 Jan 2011 ANI

London, Jan 17(ANI): Blackburn Rovers' new manager Steve Kean has conceded that the monthly meeting with the club's owners in India, Venky's, was not quite what he had anticipated.

"I didn't think I'd be making 10-hour flights to India when I took over, but if he helps continue the good communication we've got it can only be a good thing," the Mirror quoted Kean, as saying.

"They are very enthusiastic and want to be involved with everything at the club. They are going to back the signings that we want to make and they can only be good for the club," he added.

The 43-year-old emphasized that he has got a good relationship with the club's administration.

"I'm going to go over to India to have a meeting with them, just to give them a progress report and see what we can do in the last part of the window. I was there a month ago and I'm back there this week," he added.

Kean has been given resources to strengthen Blackburn in the transfer market, and has signed striker Roque Santa Cruz on loan from Manchester City.

German and American international midfielder Jermaine Jones also looks set to join them on loan.

Blackburn are currently at the 11th place in the Premier League table. (ANI)
