Poonch, Jan 11 (ANI): Residents of Jammu and Kashmir have been facing problems in meeting with their relatives in Pakistan due to non-clearance of papers in Islamabad.
Mumtaz Khan, in-charge of a cross border bus service agency, said that there has been severe drop in the number of passengers traveling to Pakistan due to non-clearance of papers.
"In today's date the number of passengers who travel to Pakistan is 40. Nobody is going to Pakistan because from their (Pakistani) side there has not been clearance of papers. So Indians cannot go to Pakistan. From our side many Pakistani people have got clearance so people are coming from that side but Indian people cannot go to Pakistan," he added.
People in large numbers were seen sitting idle at the bus stop but the wait seemed endless.
Naseem Khan, a professor from Pakistan said that delay in clearance of papers from the Pakistani officials would also hamper the peace talks between the two countries and strong initiatives should be taken to clear all the confusion.
"Pakistani government should take initiative and clear the application of our people so that people can travel to Pakistan easily," said Khan.
The current delay in the dispatch of clearance papers has dampened the spirits of several people who had planned to visit their relatives across the border in New Year. (ANI)
