Sydney, Jan.5 (ANI): Cricket Australia has announced the one-day international against England in Brisbane on January 30 will be a fundraiser for those affected by Queensland's floods.
Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland confirmed the move on Wednesday during the fifth Ashes Test at the SCG, saying all funds raised will go to the Queensland Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.
"We have all seen the devastation of the floods and feel for those affected in many communities in Queensland and NSW," Sutherland said.
He added: "Australian cricket has many friends in the affected regions so it is only fair that we do our bit to help. Through this match we hope all Australians can get behind the appeal and raise much needed funds."
The move is the latest of several recent fundraising moves by Cricket Australia, including a one-off match at the MCG following the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004 and support for the victims of the Victorian bushfire disaster in 2009.(ANI)
