Star batsman Kevin Pietersen echoed his teammate's remarks, saying: "Why does my head hurt SO much this am?? OUCH!!"

Meanwhile, fast bowler Tim Bresnan said that the team was now aiming to win the series.

"Celebrating done. Sore head this morning. On to Sydney to wrap up the series," Bresnan tweeted.

England took an unassailable 2-1 lead after crushing Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to retain the Ashes for the first time in 24 years. (ANI)
