Brit boxing ace Khan says he never tested positive for drugs

London , Sun, 26 Dec 2010 ANI

London, Dec 26 (ANI): Hitting out at drug rumours, Ace British boxer Amir Khan has said that he and Manny Pacquiao are completely clean.

Khan's conditioning coach Alex Ariza claims Marcos Maidana's trainer Miguel Diaz called him 'a fraud' following the Bolton boxer's impressive points win over the Argentine in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Ariza even claims Diaz called him 'a cheat' and strongly denied Khan uses anything illegal to prepare for his fights, the Daily Express reports.

Khan's former opponent Paulie Malignaggi claimed the thought had crossed his mind that the Bolton boxer could be using performance-enhancing drugs ahead of their bout earlier this year.

But WBA world light-welterweight champion Khan has dismissed the slurs and claimed his knockers are just jealous.

"It's hurtful when these things are said. I'm drug tested and never once have I tested positive because I'm so clean. I don't even drink. I'd never, ever take a banned substance. I'd never cheat in sport," Khan said

"Why would I want to cheat in sport or take drugs? I'm too scared to take something like that because I train so hard and my body is so fit. When people say it, it's people trying to make someone look bad and not appreciate their skills.

"Why don't people say Maidana is on something because the power he's got is mad? He's got power that not many fighters have. I just think a lot of people are jealous," Khan said. (ANI)

(following the Bolton boxer's impressive points win over the Argentine in Las Vegas earlier this month.) "impressive" A win he got by the skin of his teeth, to call his win impressive is an insult. Also as for the argentine boxer , a good tough fighter but hardly one of the elite fighters in this weight class.
