Lahore, Dec 25 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked former captain Shoaib Malik and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal to submit the documents listing their assets and bank accounts by December 30.
The PCB also told the duo that they would not be considered for Pakistan's preliminary squad for next year's World Cup squad if they failed to submit the relevant documents within the deadline, the Daily Times reported.
The board's Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed was quoted as saying that the fate of Malik and Akmal would be decided after they submitted the required financial documents.
Earlier, both players were overlooked for Pakistan's tour of New Zealand, and also refused permission by the PCB to go and play league cricket in Bangladesh.
It is noteworthy that while most of the other participating nations have already announced their preliminary squads, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had extended Pakistan's deadline for submitting the 30-member list to January 5, after the PCB requested an extension so that it could clear the players in advance.
