Taylor eyeing to 'get back to his best' during Pak series

Auckland, Fri, 24 Dec 2010 ANI

Auckland, Dec 24(ANI): New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has admitted that he is eager to reclaim some form during the upcoming series against Pakistan.

Taylor will captain the Black Caps in their three-match Twenty20 series, which starts on Boxing Day in Auckland, and he enters the clash on the back of a disappointing tour of India.

In the five-match one-day series, the 26-year-old had scored just one half-century and averaged 27.6.

"I didn't play as well as I would have liked in India. I put a lot of pressure on myself to score a lot of runs and I didn't do as well as I would have liked," Stuff.co.nz quoted Taylor, as saying.

"When people speculate about your position in the team you don't like to not score any runs," he added.

The right-handed batsman also said that there would not be any technical variations made to his batting leading into the series.

"You are constantly evolving your game and tweaking little things here and there. I don't think there will be any changes. I think getting the confidence back will be one of the main things," Taylor said. (ANI)
