Bangladesh won't tour Pak before 2012 due to "tight schedule": BCB President

Karachi, Dec 24 (ANI): Bangladesh has ruled out playing in Pakistan until 2012, citing the "tight schedule" of the national team, and not "law and order" issues, as the reason behind the decision.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Mustafa Kamal said that the national team was not in a position to tour Pakistan before 2012, but the Under-19 team could be sent there next year.

"Pakistan and Bangladesh should definitely play, there is nothing wrong in it. I had a fruitful meeting with PCB chief Ijaz Butt in this regard but next year we will only be sending either our Under-19 or Academy team to Pakistan," the Daily Times quoted Kamal, as saying to a TV channel.

"May be in 2012, we would be in a position to play in Pakistan," he added.

Turning down security concerns in Pakistan, Kamal insisted that touring Pakistan next year was highly unlikely only because of the busy schedule of the national team.

"Law and order issue is not there at all. If law and order would have been the issue then how come we would be sending our Under-19 team to Pakistan," he said.

"Because of our tight schedule and engagements we are not in a position to send our team to Pakistan next year," added Kamal, who is also the Asian Cricket Council President. (ANI)
