Mumbai, Dec.20 (ANI): A charity horse race was organised for visually impaired children here during the weekend.
The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) organised the race along with private casino at Mahalaxmi Race Course.
The event sought to raise money for the Happy Home and School of the Blind children.
Vivek Jain, the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) chairman, said he was proud to organize the event and added the club plans to keep holding such events in future.
"It is one of our big events to be associated with charity. And our sponsors came up with the idea to associate with 'Happy Homes'. So, we want our racing activities to go hand in hand with charity and nothing better than doing it with the big classic day. So, you will see more such events in the club," said Jain.
The Tango dance was performed by a troupe from Argentina in the lawns of the racecourse. The children from a blind school also performed at the event.
An amount of 1.5 million rupees was raised for the visually impaired children through the event. By Susheel Parikh (ANI)
