Anderson ditched 'sleep routine in England' to keep acclimatized with Oz Conditions

Perth, Wed, 15 Dec 2010 ANI

Perth, Dec 15(ANI): England fast bowler James Anderson has revealed that he had tried to stick to Australian times during his trip back home to be prepared for the third Ashes Test, starting in Perth on Thursday.

Anderson had gone back home to witness the birth of his second child, daughter Ruby, born on Friday.

His 35,578-kilometre journey around the world in six days included flight to Manchester, via Melbourne and Dubai, and then flying to Perth via Dubai.

"I didn't get into a sleep routine in England or acclimatize to English conditions," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Anderson, as saying.

"I feel fresh and probably happy for the rest from bowling after a tough first two Tests," he added.

The 28-year-old further said that he is receiving daily updates on Ruby's progress through Skype.

"It was nice to go back for a few days, be there for the birth. In an ideal world I probably would've stayed a bit longer, but the nature of my job is I've got to be here and try to perform at my best for England," Anderson said.

"It's difficult leaving my family at home, but it's something I've had to deal with before. The birth of my first child, I was there for a couple of weeks then I had to go off on tour, so it's something I've dealt with before," he added. (ANI)
