Bangalore, Nov.27 (ANI): Information Technology (IT) giant Infosys chairman N.R. Narayana Murthy on Friday reiterated his call for promoting professionalism and ethics in the competitive and complex IT sector.
He was speaking at a round table conference organized by Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Murthy, termed the need of professionalism and work ethics in the IT sector as 'most relevant'.
"Professionalism and ethics are becoming more and more relevant in our quest to become better professionalisms, in our quest to make this country a better place and this world a better place. And that exactly is the background that we have set out with," said Murthy.
He further said there is need to prepare budding IT professionals and set higher benchmarks on professionalism and ethics as the Indian industry.
Nigel Fine the Chief Executive Officer of IET, who was the chief organizer of the event, emphasized on the co-existence of professional qualifications and professionalism in an individual.
"The combination of having professional qualifications, which are internationally recognized, which are a benchmark of performance in both technical competence and professionalism is a way of actually demonstrating to the outside world and to the peers what is it that you stood for, what your colleagues are and the values that you give to the society," said Fine.
