Kaspro warns England about Gabba ahead of Ashes Test

Brisbane (Australia), Fri, 19 Nov 2010 ANI

Brisbane (Australia), Nov.19 (ANI): Former Australian and Queensland fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz has warned England that they can expect some surprises when they take on Australia in the first Ashes Test at the Gabba from November 25.

Kasprowicz, who played 38 Tests and knows the Gabba like the back of his hand, insists that the Gabba and the Allan Border Field are as different as chalk and cheese.

Asked if there was any similarity between the AB Field pitches and the Gabba Test pitch, Fox Sports quoted Kasprowicz, as saying: "Not heaps. I wouldn't say there is too much likeness. There is a little bit of bounce and carry at AB Field. But it won't be anything like what they find in the Test."

The first look England will have of the Gabba probably will not be until Sunday, as curator Kevin Mitchell is currently preparing the practice pitches.

There was a brief moment that sent a shudder through the England camp yesterday when a stray cricket ball thrown by an onlooker narrowly missed Swann's head by millimetres as he was sitting down in between bowling bursts. (ANI)
