Pakistan pavilion largest at India's International Trade Fair

New Delhi , Tue, 16 Nov 2010 ANI

New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): The India International Trade Fair 2010 in New Delhi recorded the maximum presence from Pakistani traders, who set up the biggest pavilion at the fair.

Over 30 stalls have been set up at the pavilion and exhibitors are prepared for good business.

The pavilion is attracting many visitors from India and abroad, as traditional clothes and food items are a favourite with many people.

Pakistani officials said tense relations at the political level did not impact trade between the two countries, but complained against stringent formalities with regard to storage facilities

"The tension at political level does not affect us. In fact, the trade is very good here. But at such a grand fair there are bound to be some issues like our material. Many containers are not being allowed inside and different agencies are inspecting our exhibits so it becomes a problem. Clearing agents are checking to bring all our material inside," said Mazhar ul Haq Mufti, Assistant Secretary, of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Over 23 countries are participating at the fortnight-long fair, which will receive millions of visitors in the Indian capital.

The fair will be on till November 27. (ANI)
