London, Nov 16 (ANI): A rare copy of a Harry Potter book worth almost 6,000 pounds has been stolen from an art gallery.
The limited first edition of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' was taken from a special display box at the Creative Art Gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, reports the BBC.
A gallery assistant was busy with a group of people, when a man took the book while a woman acted as look out.
Police released CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the theft.
"I believe this was an opportunist crime and the offenders took advantage of the gallery assistant being occupied by a group of people. There were only between 300 to 500 copies of this limited edition ever published, so it is very rare," said Geoffrey Allen, from Thames Valley Police.
"The owner of the book is very keen for it to be recovered and we are appealing for anyone who recognises the two people in the CCTV images to call us," he added. (ANI)
