London, Nov 8 (ANI): Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has already set his sights on the second spot in the Premier League after his team bounced back from three straight defeats with a convincing win over West Brom.
City now face rivals Manchester United, currently second in the Premier League table.
"It was very important to win going into the derby, we are in a good position now. We can get second position maybe after that game," The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.
"We played a fantastic game. My players played so well and we can score more goals than that. We always had the ball," he said.
It will require a four-goal win on Wednesday night to cross United in the league table.
Mancini said his side was unlucky to go on a run of three successive defeats, culminating in Thursday's 3-1 loss to Polish minnows Lech Poznan.
"It is normal when you've lost two or three that the atmosphere is not good - but it's important we continue to work. Sometimes you lose when you don't deserve to lose.
"We lost in Poland and it was incredible that we did with how the game ended. Arsenal was an incredible red card and we lost the game. At Wolves, we had five chances to score in the first half-an-hour and lost," he said.
"In the end we got what we want with a great win here. I'm very happy with my players," Mancini added. (ANI)
