Islamabad, Nov 1(ANI): In a brute reminder of their barbaric means of meting out their brand of justice, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has publicly lashed 65 alleged drug-addicts in Orakzai Agency of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
TTP spokesman in Orakzai Agency Hafiz Saeed admitted the public lashing and said that the addicts had confessed before the 'Shariah court' to have taken drugs despite their warnings.
He said the convicts were publicly punished so that no one could dare violate the TTP warning in the troubled tribal region in future, the News reports.
The latest act comes a week after three "common criminals" were beheaded by militants for allegedly masquerading as the Taliban while stealing and kidnapping for ransom.
A note was found near the bodies, identifying them as criminals "defaming" the Taliban.
"They were involved in various crimes, including theft and kidnapping for ransom, posing as Taliban. We killed them so others may learn a lesson from this," the note had said. (ANI)
