Dikshit pleased over Delhi getting Mission Convergence distinction at international level

New Delhi, Oct. 22 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has expressed her pleasure over the city achieving a new milestone through its over two-year-old Mission Convergence program.

 

In a message, Dikshit said that it is a great honour for Delhi to receive two gold medals from the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) for achieving first position on its Mission Convergence out of 150 entries.

 

The Gold Medals were given away at the CAPAM's annual conference held at Malta on October 20, 2010.

 

Mission Convergence got the 2010 CAPAM International Innovations Award for innovations in engaging the citizens, providing efficient service delivery solutions, a high quality of management and accountability and use of technology in public service.

 

Mission Convergence also received the Gold Medal for excellence in governance, innovations and management in public administration category.

 

Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta said that there were 150 entries from the Commonwealth countries across the world from various public service agencies and Mission Convergence, with the global gold medal for excellence has topped the program for excellence in public service. he Mission Convergence was launched by Dikshit on August 14, 2008. It is an initiative of the Government of Delhi to provide integrated social welfare services to the poor and needy people in Delhi.

 

It is an autonomous society headed by the Delhi Chief Secretary and the Mission Director. By Rajesh Gaur (ANI)
