New Delhi, Oct.18 (ANI): The German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the national capital on Monday.
The German leader, who is accompanied by a top-level delegation, discussed matters of bilateral interests with the Prime Minister.
Westerwelle arrived in New Delhi on Sunday on a three-day visit.
Earlier on Friday, underlining the flourishing trade relations between the two countries, the Spokesperson of Foreign Ministry, Vishnu Prakash, said that bilateral trade between India and Germany had crossed nearly 13 billion Euros in 2009, despite global slowdown.
Both the countries are well on the way of attaining the trade target of 20 billion Euros by 2012.
Westerwelle would also meet his Indian counterpart S. M. Krishna later in the day and they are scheduled to discuss on a coordinated strategy for the permanent membership at the United Nation's Security Council.
Both countries were recently elected as non-permanent members in UN Security Council for two years till 2012. (ANI)
