DGP Khoda favours strengthening of police-public relations in Jammu-Kashmir

Anantnag, Oct.11 (ANI): Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldeep Khoda on Monday stressed on the need to strengthen a good relation between police and public.

 

DGP Khoda was speaking during a public darbar at Anantnag, as a large number of people from all parts of Anantnag Range converged for the meet.

 

Addressing the participants, Khoda disclosed that the aim behind organizing such Darbar was to coordinate with the people and know their grievances and their prompt redressal so that the gap created could be filled.

 

Khoda said that every citizen should come forward and bridge this timely gap which has been created due to some abnormal situation.

 

He said that Police have always worked for the protection of people and their property and people have also to share their hand to police in maintaining peace.

 

Stating that some vested interests were trying to exploit the common man, so that their ill-designs were fulfilled, DGP Khoda urged the people to be aware of such elements and foil their designs and come forward and work for the development of the state.

 

He also stressed upon the elderly and respectable residents to guide the misguided youths so that their services could be utilized for the development of the state.

 

He informed that the main problem in the state was unemployment and illiteracy.

 

The DGP said: "We have to work together for eradicating these problems. DGP issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for immediate recruitment of 881 constables in the Anantnag Range."

 

He said that more than 524 sub inspectors in executive, armed, telecommunication, auxiliary police were recently selected.

 

Lauding the role of public in times of peace and war, the DGP said that despite the turmoil the people of the state have always shown honour for brotherhood. "We have to uphold this tradition."

 

He also stressed for public darbars at police stations and district levels so that the genuine grievances of the people come to the notice of senior officers for their redressal.

 

Among others Additional Director General of Police (Armed/Law and Order), K-Rajendra, Inspector General CRPF R.K.Dua, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, S M Sahai, and other senior police officers of Anantnag Range were present on the occasion. (ANI)
