Karachi, Oct 3 (ANI): The Pakistan Government has declined to grant permission to the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) to hire an Indian coach for training the national cueists for the two upcoming international assignments- Asian Games at Guangzhou and World snooker at Damascus.
"The Ministry of Interior has regretted to issue No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to hire Indian coach Sanjay Sawant," the Dawn quoted Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), as saying.
Referring to the Ministry of Sports letter dated Sept 30, 2010, it said, "The matter has been examined in consultation with ministries of interior and foreign affairs and the former has regretted issuance of NOC in this case."
Earlier, the PBSA had sent a proposal to the PSB on July 30 this year, seeking an NOC to hire Sawant, and a proposed budget of 1.5 million rupees, which would include air travels, accommodation and meals in addition to the boarding and lodging costs of cueists in the camp.
Meanwhile, the PBSA President and Executive Committee have expressed their disappointment over the government's decision. (ANI)
